Aerocool partners with Sirfa for its new 80+ Gold line

Aerocool isn't considered to sell terrific power supplies, but that may change with the introduction of their new line of 600W-1200W units made by a manufacturer they haven't used before - Sirfa.

Since its creation Aerocool has been using mostly HEC and Andyson, which consistently failed to provide impressive designs. The new products have a chance to surprise customers and reviewers, as they will use Sirfa's proven designs: the HPM and the HPJ. The former is a fresh platform, used in Sirfa's own market line named High Power Astro Lite, and also in 3rd party manufacturers like Rosewill's Photon 550W-750W or Thermaltake TR2 Gold.

The HPJ is a little behind the newest technology (e.g. it lacks an LLC resonant converter), but it performs very well for the amount of power it has to provide. It is also used in 850W-1200W models of Rosewill Photon and other brands.

Naturally, it's reasonable to expect that Aerocool won't release four models with just a 50-watt difference inbetween. They will keep either the 500W and 600W units, or the 550W and 650W units.
