CapG
Glacier, Valens, Photon, Quark - after introducing quite a few lines in recent months, Rosewill adds yet another series to their offer. The Capstone G series consists of six 550W-1200W PSUs made by Enhance, on their ATX1500B and EPS1700 GT platforms. All units are 80+ Gold certified, semi-modular, and come with a 5 year warranty.

In the same time, the Capstone and Capstone Modular lines disappear. They were one of the most recognizable power supplies by Rosewill, which made the brand known and respected amongst enthusiasts. The old Capstones were based on Super Flower's Golden Green platform, which proved to be very flexible and able to maintain high performance across the whole load range of the Capstone series.

Crossfire and SLI enthusiasts will be happy to see that the 650W model includes four PEG connectors, enough to drive two high-end graphics cards. Modern power-efficienct GPUs make it possible to get by with a 650W PSU instead of something more powerful.

The lower wattage models are based on Enhance's modern design, similar (but not necessarily the same) as the one seen in Cooler Master Semi-Modular series or Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Platinum 650W-750W; making use of DC-DC modules, LLC resonant converters and high quality Japanese capacitors all over.

The higher-wattage units use a slightly older project, dating back to 2011 (with some cosmetic refreshes on the course of the years).

Rosewill Capstone G series appeared at Newegg in the time of writing this article. The 550W unit is priced at $89, the 650W at $99, and the flagship 1200W costs $189. Currently the series costs more than Rosewill's fully modular Photon line, so expect the price to drop in the following days.
